BuChE-IN-16 (Compound 6a) is an orally active, blood-brain barrier-permeable, and selective BuChE inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.33 ?M. It exhibits anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects, improves cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease (AD) zebrafish models, and alleviates scopolamine-induced memory impairment in mice. BuChE-IN-16 is applicable for Alzheimer's disease research.
