Butein tetramethyl ether (Compound 20) is a potent and selective inhibitor of breast cancer resistance protein / ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 2 (BCRP/ABCG2) . It inhibits MCF-7 MX and MDCKBCRP cells with IC50 values of 2.2 ?M and 1.03 ?M, respectively. Butein tetramethyl ether holds potential for cancer research.
