Bioactivity
Acyclovir (Aciclovir) hydrochloride is an effective oral antiviral agent with potent anti-herpetic activity. It exhibits IC50 values of 0.85 ?M for HSV-1 and 0.86 ?M for HSV-2, indicating strong inhibitory effects against these strains. Additionally, Acyclovir hydrochloride induces cell cycle disturbances and apoptosis. This compound also prevents bacterial infections during induction therapy for acute leukemia.
