Recombinant mouse CD31/PECAM1 protein
CD31, also known as PECAM-1 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule), is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is found on the surface of platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, and some types of T-cells, and makes up a large portion of endothelial cell intercellular junctions. It plays a role in signalling and is involved in migration of monocytes and neutrophils, natural killer cells, T lymphocytes and CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells. Also, it is important for angiogenesis because it enables the formation of new blood vessels through the cell-cell adhesion. It may play a role in a variety of diseases, including cancer, atherosclerosis, and the nervous system diseases. Recombinant mouse CD31/PECAM-1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
