Recombinant human PIGF-2 protein
PIGF, as know as placenta growth factor, is a member of the VEGF sub-family that a key molecule in angiogenesis and vasculogenesis, in particular during embryogenesis. It is ultimately associated with angiogenesis. Specifically, it plays a role in trophoblast growth and differentiation. Also it is a potential biomarker for preeclampsia, a condition in which blood vessels in the placenta are too narrow, resulting in high blood pressure. Under normal physiologic conditions, it is also expressed at a low level in other organs including the heart, lung, thyroid, and skeletal muscle. Recombinant human PIGF, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
