Recombinant human CD40/TNFRSF5 protein
CD40, also known as TNFRSF5, is a member of the TNF receptor superfamily. It transduces TRAF6- and MAP3K8-mediated signals that activate ERK in macrophages and B cells, leading to induction of immunoglubiln secretion. CD40 is a receptor on antigen-presenting cells of the immune system and is essential for mediating a broad variety of immune and inflammatory responses including T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation. CD40 molecule is a potential target for cancer immunotherapy. There are number of completed and ongoing clinical trials where agonistic anti-CD40 monoclonal antibodies are employed to activate an anti-tumor T cell response via activation of dendritic cells. Recombinant human CD40, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
