Recombinant human IL-1Ra/IL1RN protein
IL-1RA/IL-1F3, also known as interleukin-1 receptor antagonist, is a glycosylated protein and a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. IL‐1RA is a pan‐physiological inhibitor of IL‐1 that prevents the activation of IL‐1 receptors by inhibiting IL‐1 binding to its receptors. It can inhibit angiogenesis by blocking the activation of the IL‐1α/PI3K/NF‐κB pathway in IL‐1‐producing human colon cancer cells. Also, Several autoimmune and inflammatory diseases have been associated with an allelic polymorphism of the IL-1RA. Recombinant human IL-1RA was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
