Recombinant mouse GOT2 protein
GOT2, also known aspartate aminotransferase, mitochondrial, belongs to the class-IPyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. Glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme which exists in cytoplasmic and inner-membrane mitochondrial forms, GOT1 and GOT2, respectively. GOT plays a role in amino acid metabolism and the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. The two enzymes are homodimeric and show close homology. Recombinant mouse GOT2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
