Recombinant human IL-18R alpha/IL18R1 protein
IL18R1, also known as interleukin 18 receptor 1, is an interleukin receptor of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein contain three Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains and on TIR domain. It shares numerous immuno-regulatory functions with IL12. IFN-alpha and IL12 are reported to induce the expression of this receptor in NK and T cells. Also, this receptor specifically binds interleukin 18 (IL18), and is essential for IL18 mediated signal transduction. It binds to the agonist leads to the activation of NF-kappa-B, but does not bind IL1A or IL1B beta. Recombinant human IL18R1, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
