Recombinant human ORM2 protein
ORM2, also known as Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein 2, is a key acute phase plasma protein. It belongs to calycin superfamily, lipocalin family. Lipocalins transport small hydrophobic molecules such as steroids, bilins, retinoids, and lipids. This protein functions as transport protein in the blood stream. It is expressed by the liver and secreted in plasma. It seems that ORM2 function in modulating the activity of the immune system during the acute-phase reaction. Recombinant human ORM2 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
