Recombinant mouse AST1/GOT1 protein
Got1 also known as Glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase 1 is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme which exists in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial forms, GOT1 and GOT2, respectively. GOT1 plays a role in amino acid metabolism and the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. The two enzymes are homodimeric and show close homology. Recombinant mouse Got1 fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
