MPPED2 likely encodes a metallophosphoesterase. The protein may play a role a brain development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. Recombinant human MPPED2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
