Recombinant human SYT5 protein
Synaptotagmins, such as SYT5, are a family of type III membrane proteins characterized by cytoplasmic repeats related to protein kinase C regulatory (C2) domains, which are thought to bind calcium. Synaptotagmins may act both as negative regulators of vesicle fusion, allowing fusion in the presence of calcium, and as calcium receptors or sensor molecules. Recombinant human SYT5 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
