Recombinant human VPS4B protein
Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 4B, also known as VPS4B, belongs to the AAA (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) family. It is involved in late steps of the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway and recognizes membrane-associated ESCRT-III assemblies and catalyzes their disassembly, possibly in combination with membrane fission. Dominant negative mutant of VPS4B inhibit vacuolar protein sorting and also arrest HIV-1 and MLV budding. Recombinant human VPS4B protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
