Recombinant human MSRA protein
MSRA (methionine sulfoxide reductase A) belongs to the MsrA Met sulfoxide reductase family. This enzyme has an important function as a repair enzyme for proteins that have been inactivated by oxidation. It catalyzes the reversible oxidation-reduction of methionine sulfoxide in proteins to methionine. In enzymology, a MSRA is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction. The 3 substrates of this enzyme are peptide-L-methionine, thioredoxin disulfide, and H2O, whereas its two products are peptide-L-methionine (R) -S-oxide and thioredoxin. Recombinant human MSRA protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
