Recombinant human AKAP7 protein
AKAP7 (A-kinase anchor protein 7 isoform gamma isoform alpha), also known as AKAP18, belongs to the A-kinase anchoring protein (AKAP) family, a group of functionally related proteins that bind to a regulatory subunit (RII) of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA) and target the enzyme to specific subcellular compartments. AKAP 7 is expressed in brain, heart, lung, pancreas and skeletal muscle. AKAP 7 binds PKA to the plasma membrane, and permits functional coupling to the L-type calcium channel. Recombinant human AKAP7 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
