Recombinant human CARD18 protein
Caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 18, also known as CARD18, is a member of the death-domain-fold superfamily that is induced by proinflammatory stimuli. It consists essentially only of a CARD, inhibits generation of IL-1b by interacting with caspase-1 and preventing association with RIP 2. The association of CARD18 with caspase-1 is facilitated by the charge-charge interactions between the prodomain of caspase-1 and the surface charge of CARD18. Recombinant human CARD18 proetin, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
