Recombinant human SEPT6/SEPTIN6 protein
Septins belong to the GTPase superclass of proteins and have been functionally implicated in cytokinesis and the maintenance of cellular morphology. SEPT6 is member of septin family and interact with SEPT2. One version of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia is the result of a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 11 and X, with the breakpoint associated with the genes encoding the mixed-lineage leukemia and septin 2 proteins. Recombinant human SEPT6 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
