Recombinant human SGK1 protein
SGK1, also known as serum-and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase, is a serine/threonine protein kinase and a member of the AGC subfamily, which includes protein kinases A, G, and C. This protein plays an important role in activating certain potassium, sodium and chloride channels, suggesting an involvement in the regulation of processes such as cell survival, neuronal excitability, and renal sodium excretion. It is activated in vitroby 3-phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase-1 (PDK-1) and in vivoin response to signals that activate phosphatidylinositol (PI) 3-kinase. Recombinant human SGK1, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
