Recombinant human BBS3/ARL6 protein
ARL6, also known ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 6, belongs to the ARF family of GTP-binding proteins. This protein is known to play essential roles in modulating membrane trafficking and cytoskeletal functions. Mutation in ARL6 causes Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS3) . BBS is a pleiotropic genetic disorder characterized by obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal abnor-malities and developmental delay. Recombinant human ARL6 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
