Recombinant human NMI protein
N-myc-interactor, also known as NMI, is a member of the oncogene Myc family. The Myc family of oncogenes is thought to play an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and neoplastic transformation. The NMI protein also interacts with all STATs except STAT2 and augments STAT-mediated transcription in response to cytokines IL2 and IFN-gamma. The NMI mRNA has low expression levels in all human fetal and adult tissues tested except brain and has high expression in cancer cell line-myeloid leukemias. Recombinant human NMI protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
