Recombinant human KCNIP3 protein
KCNIP3 is a member of the family of voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channel-interacting proteins, which belong to the recoverin branch of the EF-hand superfamily. Members of the KCNIP family are small calcium binding proteins containing EF-hand-like domains. This protein also functions as a calcium-regulated transcriptional repressor, and interacts with presenilins. Mutations in the presenilin genes have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease. Recombinant human KCNIP3 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
