Recombinant human CBR4 protein
CBR4 belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family. The formation of heteroteramer with HSD17B8 has NADH-dependent 3-ketoacyl-acyl carrier protein reductase activity for o- and p-quinones. It plays a role in biosynthesis of fatty acids in mitochondria and has broad substrate specificity and reduces 9, 10-phenanthrenequinone, 1, 4-benzoquinone and various other o-quinones and p-quinones (in vitro) . Recombinant human CBR4 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
