Recombinant human Annexin A8/ANXA8 protein
ANXA8, also known as Annexin A8, a member of the annexin family of evolutionarily conserved Ca2+ and phospholipid binding proteins. This protein is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Where co-expressed in the same tissues, ANXA8 is often expressed at a 100-fold lower level than Annexin A5. However, ANXA8 is preferentially expressed in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) cells which may relate to its role in hematopoietic cell differentiation. Recombinant human ANXA8 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
