Decoyinine

Decoyinine is a non-competitive and reversible inhibitor of GMP synthase (GMPS, IC50=17.3 mM) .1 GMPS was shown to be a positive regulator of invasiveness in melanoma cells and decoyinine reduced invasion of melanoma cells by 30%.2 Decoyinine reduces intracellular levels of GMP, GDP and GTP. Numerous studies of decoyinine in bacteria have been performed showing that guanylates play key roles in bacterial growth, cell wall biosynthesis, sporulation, and pathogenicity.3-5
