Zebrafish Gnrh2 Antibody / Gonadotropin-releasing hormone 2 / Progonadoliberin
Unlike Gnrh1, which is the main hypophysiotropic form regulating pituitary gonadotropin release, Gnrh2 is considered a non-hypophysiotropic GnRH variant and is thought to function in neuromodulation and reproductive behavior across vertebrates. In zebrafish, Gnrh2-expressing neurons have been implicated in the integration of sensory and hormonal signals, contributing to the fine-tuning of reproductive timing and behavior in response to environmental cues. Due to its evolutionary conservation and tissue-specific expression, zebrafish Gnrh2 is a valuable model for studying neuroendocrine regulation, sexual behavior, and the functional diversification of GnRH isoforms.
