Zebrafish Gata6 Antibody / GATA-binding factor 6
During early zebrafish embryogenesis, Gata6 is expressed in the endodermal and mesodermal layers, where it works in concert with Gata4 and Gata5 to specify endodermal fate and initiate the morphogenesis of organs such as the liver, pancreas, and intestine. It also contributes to cardiac progenitor specification and the formation of the heart tube, making it essential for proper cardiovascular development. Due to its high conservation and central role in organogenesis, zebrafish Gata6 is widely used as a model to study developmental gene regulation, cardiogenesis, and congenital diseases affecting the heart and gastrointestinal tract. It is also a valuable marker for analyzing endodermal derivatives and early tissue patterning in vertebrate embryos.
