Anti-Mu Opioid Receptor Antibody

Our Mu Opioid Receptor rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from PhosphoSolutions is produced in-house. It detects human, mouse, and rat Mu Opioid Receptor and is antigen affinity purified. It is great for use in WB.

Product Specifications

Background

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of membrane receptors that activate intracellular signaling cascades and undergo endocytosis, recycling, or degradation upon stimulation. The (mu) m-, delta (d) and kappa (k) opioid receptors are GPCRs of the nervous system, which control pain, stress, and addictive behaviors. The mu opioid receptor (MOR-1) is a high-affinity receptor for enkephalins and beta-endorphins with low affinity for dynorphins. The opiate alkaloids morphine and codeine bind to MOR-1.

Storage Conditions

Recommended that the undiluted antibody be aliquoted into smaller working volumes (10-30 uL/vial depending on usage) upon arrival and stored long term at -20° C or -80° C, while keeping a working aliquot stored at 4° C for short term. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Stable for at least 1 year.

WB Dilution

1:500-1:1000

Specificity

Reacts with the C-terminal region of the human, mouse and rat MOR-1 protein. The antibody may detect dimmers or trimers on a Western blot as heterodimerization and homodimerization is common with the opioid receptors; however the monomer should be the dominant MOR-1 band at about 46 kDa.

Formulation

Prepared from pooled rabbit serum by affinity purification using a column to which the peptide immunogen was coupled.

Quality Control

Western blots performed on each lot.
