Anti-MNX1/HB9 Antibody

Our Anti-Motor Neuron and Pancreas Homeobox Protein 1 chicken polyclonal primary antibody from Aves Labs is produced in-house. It detects human, mouse, and rat MNX1, and is affinity-purified IgY. It is great for use in ICC, IHC, WB.

Product Specifications

Background

The MNX1/HB9 protein, encoded by the MNX1 gene (also known as HB9), is a transcription factor belonging to the homeobox gene family, which plays an essential role in regulating gene expression during embryonic development. MNX1/HB9 is particularly important in the spinal cord, where it drives the differentiation of motor neurons. Disruptions in MNX1 expression have been associated with developmental disorders and diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy and Currarino syndrome (Han et al 2020) . MNX1 also plays a role in certain forms of diabetes, affecting the development of insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas (Aly et al. 2023) . Due to its influence in multiple body systems, understanding MNX1/HB9 function has potential therapeutic implications for both neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases.
