CAV1 Antibody

The scaffolding protein is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most cell types. The gene is a tumor suppressor gene candidate and a negative regulator of the Ras-p42/44 MAP kinase cascade. CAV1 and CAV2 are located next to each other on chromosome 7 and express colocalizing proteins that form a stable hetero-oligomeric complex. By using alternative initiation codons in the same reading frame, two isoforms (alpha and beta) are encoded by a single transcript from this gene.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store CAV1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

CAV1 antibody can be used for detection of CAV1 by ELISA at 1:312500. CAV1 antibody can be used for detection of CAV1 by western blot at 1.25 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
