Polyspecific organic cation transporters in the liver, kidney, intestine, and other organs are critical for elimination of many endogenous small organic cations as well as a wide array of drugs and environmental toxins. SLC22A2 is one of the three similar cation transporters. SLC22A2 contains twelve putative transmembrane domains and is a plasma integral membrane protein. This gene is one of three similar cation transporter genes located in a cluster on chromosome 6. The encoded protein contains twelve putative transmembrane domains and is a plasma integral membrane protein. It is found primarily in the kidney, where it may mediate the first step in cation reabsorption. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store SLC22A2 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

SLC22A2 antibody can be used for detection of SLC22A2 by ELISA at 1:312500. SLC22A2 antibody can be used for detection of SLC22A2 by western blot at 2.5 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
