MXI1 Antibody

Expression of the c-myc gene, which produces an oncogenic transcription factor, is tightly regulated in normal cells but is frequently deregulated in human cancers. The MXI1 gene encodes a transcriptional repressor protein thought to negatively regulate MYC function, and is therefore a potential tumor suppressor. This protein inhibits the transcriptional activity of MYC by competing for MAX, another basic helix-loop-helix protein that binds to MYC and is required for its function. Additional alternatively spliced transcripts may exist but the products of these transcripts have not been verified experimentally.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store MXI1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

MXI1 antibody can be used for detection of MXI1 by ELISA at 1:312500. MXI1 antibody can be used for detection of MXI1 by western blot at 1.0 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
