FTH1 Antibody

FTH1 is the heavy subunit of ferritin, the major intracellular iron storage protein in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of 24 subunits of the heavy and light ferritin chains. Variation in ferritin subunit composition may affect the rates of iron uptake and release in different tissues. A major function of ferritin is the storage of iron in a soluble and nontoxic state. Defects in ferritin proteins are associated with several neurodegenerative diseases. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, but their biological validity has not been determined. For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store FTH1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

FTH1 antibody can be used for detection of FTH1 by ELISA at 1:312500. FTH1 antibody can be used for detection of FTH1 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
