HK2 Antibody

Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, thus committing glucose to the glycolytic pathway. HK2 (hexokinase 2) is the predominant form found in skeletal muscle. It localizes to the outer membrane of mitochondria. Expression of this protein is insulin-responsive, and studies in rat suggest that it is involved in the increased rate of glycolysis seen in rapidly growing cancer cells. For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store HK2 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

HK2 antibody can be used for detection of HK2 by ELISA at 1:12500. HK2 antibody can be used for detection of HK2 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
