CYP11A1 Antibody

CYP11A1 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. CYP11A1 localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane and catalyzes the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone, the first and rate-limiting step in the synthesis of the steroid hormones. This protein localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane and catalyzes the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone, the first and rate-limiting step in the synthesis of the steroid hormones. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The cellular location of the smaller isoform is unclear since it lacks the mitochondrial-targeting transit peptide.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store CYP11A1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

CYP11A1 antibody can be used for detection of CYP11A1 by ELISA at 1:1562500. CYP11A1 antibody can be used for detection of CYP11A1 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
