OAS1 Antibody

This protein is a member of the 2-5A synthetase family, essential proteins involved in the innate immune response to viral infection. The encoded protein is induced by interferons and uses adenosine triphosphate in 2'-specific nucleotidyl transfer reactions to synthesize 2',5'-oligoadenylates (2-5As) . The three known members of this gene family are located in a cluster on chromosome 12. Mutations in this gene have been associated with host susceptibility to viral infection. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store OAS1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

OAS1 antibody can be used for detection of OAS1 by ELISA at 1:312500. OAS1 antibody can be used for detection of OAS1 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
