UBE2C Antibody

The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. UBE2C is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. This enzyme is required for the destruction of mitotic cyclins and for cell cycle progression. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been defined.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store UBE2C antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

UBE2C antibody can be used for detection of UBE2C by ELISA at 1:62500. UBE2C antibody can be used for detection of UBE2C by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
