AKAP5 Antibody

The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. AKAP5 is a member of the AKAP family. It binds to the RII-beta regulatory subunit of PKA, and also to protein kinase C and the phosphatase calcineurin. It is predominantly expressed in cerebral cortex and may anchor the PKA protein at postsynaptic densities (PSD) and be involved in the regulation of postsynaptic events. For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store AKAP5 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

AKAP5 antibody can be used for detection of AKAP5 by ELISA at 1:1562500. AKAP5 antibody can be used for detection of AKAP5 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
