PLP1 Antibody

PLP1 is a transmembrane proteolipid protein that is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system. It may play a role in the compaction, stabilization, and maintenance of myelin sheaths, as well as in oligodendrocyte development and axonal survival. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease and spastic paraplegia type 2.This gene encodes a transmembrane proteolipid protein that is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms or having different 5' UTRs, have been identified for this gene.

For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚ C. For longer periods of storage, store PLP1 antibody at -20˚ C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.

PLP1 antibody can be used for detection of PLP1 by ELISA at 1:62500. PLP1 antibody can be used for detection of PLP1 by western blot at 1 μ g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
