Anti-CLDN18.2 - Research Grade Biosimilar
Product Specifications
Background
CLDN18 belongs to Claudins protein family. The Claudin protein was discovered by ShoichiroTsukita and colleagues in 1998. In humans, it is encoded by the CLDN18 gene, which is expressed on the epithelium. Epithelial cells are cells located on the surface of the skin or cavity. Their main function is to act as a physical and chemical barrier. The most important connection between epithelial cells is tight junction. Claudin is an important molecule that constitutes tight junctions of cells. Tight junctions determine the permeability of epithelial cells and also play a role in blocking the diffusion of cell membrane surface proteins and lipids1.
