Anti H (A2) Lectin

Anti-H (A2) Lectin reagent is a purified and stabilized phytohaemagglutinin produced from Laburnum alpinum. The lectin strongly reacts with the blood group antigen H on human erythrocytes and is therefore used to differentiate between A1 or A2 bloods. As A2-types or weaker A-types have many free H substances, strong reactions will occur with these blood types. On the contrary, on A1A1-bloods the H-substance is blocked. With A1B-, A1O-and especially with BO-types there may still be free rests of H-substance and weak reactions may occur. As defined strongest reaction are seen with O-bloods.
