Mollison and Polley discovered in 1964 that decrease in ionic strength by an appropriate solution (low ionic strength solution = Liss) increase antigen-antibody reaction. This Liss solution is a modified form of the poor salt solution described by Löw, B. and Messeter, L. in 1974. Low ionic strength and a small part of bovine albumin solution result in an efficient testing even of weak antibodies after 10 minutes incubation time.
