TNFR-1/CD120a Protein, Mouse, Recombinant (hFc Tag)
Product Specifications
Background
The cluster of differentiation (CD) system is commonly used as cell markers in Immunophenotyping. Different kinds of cells in the immune system can be identified through the surface CD molecules which associating with the immune function of the cell. There are more than 320 CD unique clusters and subclusters have been identified. Some of the CD molecules serve as receptors or ligands important to the cell through initiating a signal cascade which then alter the behavior of the cell. Some CD proteins do not take part in cell signal process but have other functions such as cell adhesion. CD120a (cluste of differentiation 120a), also known as TNFR1 / TNFRSF1A, is a member of CD family, tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. CD120a is one of the most primary receptors for the tumor necrosis factor-alpha. It has been shown to be localized to both plasma membrane lipid rafts and the trans golgi complex with the help of the death domain (DD) . CD120a can activate the transcription factor NF-κB, mediate apoptosis, and regulate inflammation processes.

Activity
1. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse TNF-alpha (Cat:PM53227E0) at 2 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind Mouse TNFRSF1AhFc (Cat:PM52815M4), the ECof Mouse TNFRSF1AhFc is 1.5-9.0 ng/mL. 2. Measured by its ability to inhibit the TNFα-mediated cytotoxicity in the L-929 mouse fibroblast cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D. The EDfor this effect is typically 15-65 ng/mL in the presence of 0.1 ng/mL of recombinant mouse TNFα.
Form
Lyophilized
Buffer
Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween 80 are added as protectants before lyophilization. Please refer to the specific buffer information in the hard copy of CoA.
Function
Cytokine Proteins, epigenetic proteins, TNF Superfamily proteins, CD Molecule proteins, Receptor Proteins
Molecular Weight
The secreted recombinant mouse TNFRSF1A/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer consists of 424 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 47.4 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rm TNFRSF1A/Fc monomer is approximately 55 kDa due to glycosylation.
Storage Conditions
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
