CAMKIV Protein, Mouse, Recombinant
Product Specifications
Background
Ca/ calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 4 (CAMKIV) belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family, and to the Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily which is widely recognized as an essential enzyme implicated in the phophoinositide amplification cascade. Ca/calmodulin dependent protein kinase (CAMK) can be activated by the introcellular increased Caand then apt to combine with the target protein. Ca/ calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 4 (CAMKIV) is a multifunctional CaM-dependent kinase protein with limited tissue distribution, that has been implicated in transcriptional regulation in lymphocytes, neurons and male germ cells. All of the isforms of this family, including myosin light chain kinase, phosphorylase kinase, CaMK1, CaMKIII and CaMKIV have EF-hand structure.

Kinase proteins, Enzyme Proteins
Molecular Weight
The recombinant mouse CAMK4 consists of 471 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 52.7 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 55 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Storage Conditions
Kinases are highly recommended to be shipped at frozen temperature with blue ice or dry ice. Shipment made at ambient temperature may seriously affect the activity of the ordered products. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
