CKAP1/TBCB Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag)

Tubulin-folding cofactor B, also known as TBCB, belongs to the TBCB family. It contains 1 CAP-Gly domain and can be detected in most tissues. TBCB binds to alpha-tubulin folding intermediates after their interaction with cytosolic chaperonin in the pathway. The cytoskeleton is composed of 3 structural elements: actin filaments, microtubules, and intermediate filaments. TBCB is involved in regulation of tubulin heterodimer dissociation. It may function as a negative regulator of axonal growth.

The recombinant human TBCB consists of 259 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 29.2 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 33-37 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
