CKM Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag)

CKM, also known as CK-MM, is mainly expressed in skeletal muscle. As the primary CK isoenzyme, it also can be detected in heart muscle. CKM is a subunit of creatine kinase (CK) . CK is an enzyme expressed by various tissues and cell types. It catalyses the conversion of creatine and consumes adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to create phosphocreatine and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) . In the cells, the cytosolic CK enzymes consist of two subunits, which can be either B (brain type) or M (muscle type) .

The recombinant human CKM consists of 396 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 44.9 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 45 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

Kinases are highly recommended to be shipped at frozen temperature with blue ice or dry ice. Shipment made at ambient temperature may seriously affect the activity of the ordered products. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
