Integrin alpha V beta 3 Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag)

Integrin alpha-V & beta-3 (ITGAV/ITGB3) is a receptor for cytotactin, fibronectin, laminin, matrix metalloproteinase-2, osteopontin, osteomodulin, prothrombin, thrombospondin, vitronectin and von Willebrand factor.

A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain (Met1-Val992) of human ITGAV (P06756) was fused with a his tag at the C-terminus, constructed the plasmid 1; A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain (Met1-Asp718) of human ITGB3 (P05106) constructed the plasmid 2. The two plasmids were co-expressed and the human ITGAV&ITGB3 heterodimer was purified.

At Leading Biology, the biological activity of a recombinant protein is routinely measured using a bioassay, e.g. chemotaxis or cell proliferation assay, enzyme assay, or a functional ELISA. When a recombinant protein is an enzyme, specific activity is derived from an enzymatic assay. Each enzyme is tested for potency by cleavage of a substrate. The recombinant heterodimer of human ITGAV&ITGB3 comprises 1751 (1015+736) amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 193.32 (112.22+81.1) KDa.

In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
