CBR3 Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag)

CBR3, also known as hCBR3, belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. CBR3 is expressed in ovary, pancreas, intestine, colon, kidney, brain, thymus, lung, heart, liver, spleen, leukocyte, prostate and testis. It is a monomeric NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase and is closely linked to another carbonyl reductase gene – CBR1. CBR3 catalyzes the reduction of a large number of biologically and pharmacologically active carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols. It has low NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase activity towards 4-benzoylpyridine and menadione (in vitro) .

When a recombinant protein is an enzyme, specific activity is derived from an enzymatic assay. Each enzyme is tested for potency by cleavage of a substrate. The recombinant human CBR3 consists of 292 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 32.7 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 37 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
