Livin/BIRC7 Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag)

BIRC7, a new member of inhibitor of the apoptosis protein family, is expressed in fetal tissues and most solid tumors in humans. BIRC7/livin expression is a novel prognostic marker in adult acute leukemia. Livin/BIRC7 is a member of the inhibitors of apoptosis proteins family, which are involved in tumor development through the inhibition of caspases. Livin/BIRC7 is specifically over-expressed in ACC, suggesting that it might be involved in adrenocortical tumorigenesis and represent a new molecular marker of malignancy.

Measured by its ability to reverse the inhibition of DEVD-AFC cleavage activity in cell extracts activated by addition of cytochrome c and dATP.The IC50 for this effect is typically 0.6-3.0 μM.

The recombinant human BIRC7 consists of 304 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 33.6 kDa. It migrates as an approximately 35 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

Liquid. It is shipped out with blue ice. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
