MAF Antibody - middle region: Biotin (P100617_P050-Biotin)

MAF acts as a transcriptional activator or repressor. It is involved in embryonic lens fiber cell development. It recruits the transcriptional coactivators CREBBP and/or EP300 to crystallin promoters leading to up-regulation of crystallin gene during lens fiber cell differentiation. MAF is also involved in the initial chondrocyte terminal differentiation and the disappearance of hypertrophic chondrocytes during endochondral bone development. When overexpressed, MAF represses anti-oxidant reponse element (ARE) -mediated transcription. It may be involved either as an oncogene or as a tumor suppressor, depending on the cell context.

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
